WordPress 2.5+ Tutorial – How to Wrap Text Around an Image

This beginner-level tutorial by Mark McLaren of McBuzz Communications teaches you to wrap text around an image using WordPress version 2.5 or later. And it shows how to insert an image and align it left, right or center. In earlier version 2.3 and earlier of WordPress, it was necessary to use the Code (HTML) editing window to insert a bit of HTML (using cascading style sheets) to get images and text to line up right. WordPress 2.5 and 2.6 improve text wrapping. Additional HTML code is not necessary. Just use the Add an Image dialog box to set image alignment, and text wraps nicely and aligns well with the image.

hi thanks. can you insert a pic and set it behind the text? I tried importing a file from word like that but it only imported the text.

Hi there, I notice this text wrapping isn’t working for embedded objects. I am using left aline so that the text is to the right of the video, but still only the top line of the text appears to the bottom right of the video. Any thoughts?

Is it just me, or does YouTube not work right half the time – they put your posts and/or replies in areas above or below the position they should be at!!!

I am trying this with version 2.8. (I am new to Wordpress.) Text wraps fine in the editor. Viewing the page, the text is not wrapped — text is above or below the image. When I go back to edit the page, the text shown as wrapped.

It is like something is not saving, but when I go back to edit it looks fine in the editor.

Not working for me. I am new at this using version 2.8.

Text wraps fine in the editor using your instructions. I Update the page, but the text is not wrapped on the page. Text is above or below the image. I click “Edit this entry” on the page to fix it, but it looks fine, text wrapped, in the editor.

I am using the Firefox browser.

I’ve searched in the web but it seems that we have to change something on the stylecss file but nothing worked, did you find a solution?
