@sweetmeat905 Yeah. When I first found out Uematsu left I thought the music would start to suck, but that has yet to happen.

Even though I think FF13 is alright at best, It lacks what made the others excellent. Mostly that being 9. This is the first FF to have super technology since 7, and by that I mean not ancient mechs or the like, I’m talking human developed modern technology. It didn’t do bad but the only reason it’s successful was because of the “Final Fantasy” name and really nothing else. Nowadays people will by anything. If this game wasn’t “Final Fantasy” I can guarantee you it wouldn’t have sold this much.

@zarados10 Duh. If FF7-13 didn’t have “Final Fantasy” on it, obviously those games wouldn’t have sold that much. Although I have a REALLY strong feeling that if FF13 didn’t have “Final Fantasy” on it, and was something else, it would have gotten MUCH better praise (it probably would have avoided the loud-as-hell nostalgic that think they’re the shit since they grew up with FF7-10 bickering).

@liaku25 Square has made a few games with Uematsu doing the music, and I don’t know a single Sqaure game without an epic soundtrack.

I doubt that due to the fact its very linear and there is barely any exploration besides Gran Pulse atleast 40 hours through the game. And about that “Loud-as-hell Nostalgia”, they are “the shit” because they where lucky enough to grow up in those years and experience the golden age of gaming(1994-2002). Legend of Dragoon, Thousands Arms, Legend of Legaia, Final Fantasy 7-9 are all excellent examples of great games. I’m lucky to reminisce in nostalgia unlike the people today.

Now that I think about it your right about the FF 7-13 bit but that still doesn’t change it’s history in the franchise. The series began going down hill with 11 and X-2. 11 is an MMO and strayed to much of the set formula of the previous FFs. With an MMO, it lost everything that made the other FFs great. Character design, personalities, story development, everything went down the drain. 12 had those but the use of Vaan is horrible, he shouldn’t have even been in the game at all.

@zarados10 If anything, FF13’s female characters are way more well-rounded than any of the female characters from FF6-10. They’re not helpless damsel-in-distresses/big chested “strong” women who actually need a man to stay alive.

@zarados10 And FFX is VERY linear also. Even though it has those towns and stuff. And Gran Pulse – more like 20/25 hours in to the game. What took you so long to get there? Lol

As soon as I heard this song on FFXIII, it instantly took top place on my list of favorite battle songs. Just hearing it gets me all pumped up.

@tproject19 Yeah man. Seems like the Japanese take musical fusion to the extreme more so then other countries. It somehow works awesomely with their incredibly dramatic style of composition.

X wasn’t very linear at all. I really enjoyed X, far more then I do with XIII. Seems where just battling opinions back and forth and no one will win this so I’m just going to end it now. In my opinion, 6,9,10 are far better then 13 will ever hope to be. 7 > 13 too, but I like the previous mentioned 3 more then 7. That is all.

@zarados10 I would never agree on FF6/7/10, but I would like to let you know that FF6/9 are so different from FF13 it’s like comparing two different games in two different genres.
